I was bitten by a bug at a concert a few years ago. Maybe it was the appeal from the stage or, perhaps, the pictures of the smiling faces that were passed around for perusal by the crowds. Either way, I was bitten by a bug and my husband I signed up to sponsor a child with Compassion. In the years since they child we sponsor has changed twice but the reality of getting to know a youngster in another country, making sure he/she is benefiting from the services offered and praying for their needs and for the needs of their family and community has helped me as a “giver” to see beyond my world into God’s larger world.
