Separated Unto What?

Written on August13, 2006…migrated today from myspace.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Written to believers…written to God's very own people…chosen to proclaim Him…the one who called US out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Then why do believers put down other believers?  Why do believers (like me) put down other believers and make them feel little and ignorant and weak?

Maybe C is right when she says that everyone is power hungry.

Today my husband and I separated ourselves from a new church plant because even though the vision for the church is admirable, the present leadership is mean and unrelational at times.  We are separating even though I have, myself, done the very same things to the people I am called to serve. God, keep me moving in the direction you are going.  I want to be formed into your image and a worthy bearer of your image in this world. I want to increasingly be like in Ephesians 4:1

"…worthy of the people God has chosen to be his own. 2Always be humble and gentle. Patiently put up with each other and love each other. 3Try your best to let God's Spirit keep your hearts united. Do this by living at peace. 4All of you are part of the same body. There is only one Spirit of God, just as you were given one hope when you were chosen to be God's people. 5We have only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. 6There is one God who is the Father of all people. Not only is God above all others, but he works by using all of us, and he lives in all of us.

Oh, Lord Jesus, have a church that shines like bright light in this very dark world!  And, have me!
