On Miscarriage: Held

Truth be told, I tend to hate compilation CDs…but I have one.  I think it was given to me simply so I could hear this song.

  1. Thanks, ya'll. Overall I am doing well. So is Handsome. There is a lot going on under the surface though. There is so much I do not understand. I've tried to write but it is just difficult. Eventually, I'll share more.We were given a book the other day which asks some questions about miscarriage and such…then attempts to answer the questions it asked. I'd say the book is right on with things. I never would have anticipated that there would be so many decisions attached to the miscarriage. There are so many things that must be sorted through.

  2. I'm glad you and H have this book you speak of and that you have eachother, and that the Lord is holding you two all the while you sort through things. Natalie's Grants song "Held" is a fitting song…

  3. Beautiful song, Laura Leigh! Healing is a bizarre process which varies from person to person. Sometimes the tears flow in abundance at the oddest of times. Thankfully, Jesus walks with us through the valley of the shadow of death and beyond…
Thinking of you…sending blessings of peace and abundant grace.
Have you heard the song by Jars of Clay called "The Valley Song"?
    One of the lines is:
I will sing of Your mercy
That leads me through valleys of sorrow
    To Rivers of Joy…
A blessing to me this song has been…I love it.

  4. Here are the lyrics:
The Valley Song (Sing of Your Mercy)You have led me to this sadnessI have carried this painon a back bruised, nearly brokenI'm crying out to YouI will sing of Your mercythat leads me through valleys of sorrowto rivers of joywhen death, like a gypsycomes to steal what I loveI will still look to the heavensI will still seek your facebut I fear You aren't listeningbecause there are no wordsjust the stillnessand the hungerfor a faith that assuresI will sing of Your mercythat leads me through valleys of sorrowto rivers of joyalleluia, alleluiaalleluia, alleluiawhile we wait for rescuewith our eyes tightly shutface to the ground using our handsto cover the fatal cutthough the pain is an oceantossing us around, around, aroundYou have calmed greater watershigher mountains have come downI will sing of Your mercythat leads me through valleys of sorrowto rivers of joyI will sing of Your mercythat leads me through valleys of sorrowto rivers of joyalleluia, alleluiaalleluia, alleluia~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you'd like to take a listen, You Tube has it…I think you'd appreciate the sound of it as well as hearing the lyrics. If I remember correctly, I believe it was birthed out of the tragic death of one of their band members…coming to grips with this loss in their lives.
    Love to you…

  5. was just browsing around today and when I scrolled down to this post, literally the second I scrolled down the the lyrics part, the song started playing on my computer. At first I wasn't sure i fit was my media player or a link you had on this post! I have my media player on shuffle and it "chose" to play that song at that exact moment–I guess I needed to hear it in this moment.
